Different color systems exist for different purposes. Digital screens use RGB, printers use CMYK, and designers often prefer HSL for its intuitive nature. Choosing the right color system is crucial for accurate color reproduction.

Why Color Systems Matter

Using the wrong color system can lead to colors appearing differently than intended. A vibrant RGB color that looks great on screen might appear dull when printed. Understanding these differences ensures your colors look right in their final medium.

Digital (RGB)

Screens emit light. RGB adds colored light together to create colors. Use RGB/HEX for anything viewed on a screen.

Printers use ink that absorbs light. CMYK subtracts light to create colors. Use CMYK for any physical printing.
